I
have been living in Tuscany since a few years, not far from Piombino,
where I was born in 1960. Before, I lived in Milan, where Istarted my
career some years after high school, working as an assistant or
photographer Antonia Mulas. I was introduced to her my father, a
painter. I left photography for moviemaking when I met the Milan-based
production company. My uncle, famous DP in 1982 brought me on the set
of Dario Argento's Tenebre. I was charmed and intrigued by the
mysterious job of telling a story through pictures. After that, I
worked as camera assistant. In 1988 I served as cameraman on a TV
serial. Next year I started to be a DP in my own right, working for
Videotech in Milan. "Ciak d'oro" nomination for best photography with Figli di Annibale (1998) and Guardami (1999).
I shot features, tv-movies, commercials, documentaries, videoclips and tv shows: to frame a story through the lens of my camera is my passion. I have been an AIC member since 1997.
